Fes to Marrakech Desert Tour 4 Days

Fes to Merzouga 4 day desert tour starts daily from Fes. We pick up clients from their Riad or hotel at 8am.

First stop will be at the national park of Ifrane city also called Moroccan Switzerland. The construction of the building is totally different than any other city of Morocco. and the reason is it gets snow a lot in this area in the winter. You will Make short stop to take pictures of white lion statue, it is made of white stones.

After that a short drive to Azrou Cedar Forest, it’s the biggest cedar forest in Africa. And its nature is home of wild monkeys. This is your chance to meet those friendly animals to feed them.

You will continue exploring the beautiful Middle Atlas Mountains. They are green in the spring and covered of snow in the winter. The mountain is home to some Berber tribes.

You will pass via some Berber villages and small towns such as Zaida or Midet where you can take a break for lunch. The area is known for the apple trees.

We will carry on travelling to cross the east part of High Atlas Mountains and drive along Ziz valley and through its palm tree groves. Pass by Erfoud, a nice town where you can visit a marble workshop and fossils. Continue to Merzouga check in to the hotel. Enjoy Fes to Merzouga day trip.

In the afternoon late you will reach Merzouga Sahara desert. check in a hotel.

Toda you will exploring the Merzouga desert and dunes of Erg Chebbi in a 4×4 SUV. The adventure 4WD excursion will take you to visit Merzouga oasis. And its traditional irrigation system. Furthermore, you will go to discover Khamlia village also called Black Town. ( Most of the inhabitants are dark-skinned people. they have immigrated from Sudan and Maly. and lived in Morocco as slaves 100 years ago). They will show you their culture of Gnawa music.

After you listen to Gnawa music and drink a glass of mint tea you will drive off-roading in the route of Paris Dark. you will see an amazing panoramic view of sand sea dunes. And visit some mines. also visit M’fis , it’s an old isolated and ruined village built by French armies during French occupation in Morocco.

From there we will drive to black desert ( black volcanic rocks ) . where nomadic families are living in their authentic nomadic tents. discover a nomad lifestyle. The hospitality , how do they live? and their income.

You will have a chance to have Berber Pizza for lunch. It’s a special food in the area. The Berber pizza is baked in the hot sand of the Sahara and it’s without cheese.

After adventure 4×4 around dunes you will start the camel trekking experience. You will leave the car and ride your camel to desert camp in the middle of Erg Chebbi Dunes.

The dunes are located south east of Morocco. and the Sahara desert is large as 35 km long and 5 to 8 km wide it’s also reputed as the highest sand dunes in North Africa.

The camel treks take about 1h 30 min from Merzouga town to the nomadic camp. We have both luxury and normal comfort camp. In the camp we have western bathroom, kitchen, dining room and everything else we will need for the night.

After delicious Tagine at the dinner the Berber guide will make some berber music. They use traditional drums. you will play drums and watch stars around the fire. And this is the highlight of Fes to Merzouga tours.

Today will start in the early morning to watch the magic sunset behind the dunes. the color is changing while the sun rises up.

The breakfast and shower at the camp if you select the luxury desert camp for your desert accommodation. If you choose Standard normal camp you will have breakfast and shower in a guest house in Merzouga after riding the camels across the sand dunes.

After the Sahara desert experience , You will leave Merzouga and travel to Dades Gorge. Pass by Rissani . It’s an ancient Moroccan city famous by it’s authentic local markets ( Stop to see the markets. The days of the markets are : Sunday, Thursdays and Tuesday. also it’s famous for its donkey station ). Later on , continue to Alnif and Tinghir. It’s a charming city surrounded by valleys and Oasis. Visit the world famous Todra Gorge. It’s an impressive canyon 300m high. Here you will have a short walk between cliffs of the canyon and beside Todra river.

After break for lunch continue exploring Morocco to Dades valley and Gorge. check in to your hotel in Boumalne Dades.

Today After breakfast in Dades you will start traveling to Marrakech. Pass by Roses valley and Kalaat Mgouna famous for pink roses and its annual festival during the roses harvest in May. Continue through the road of the Thousand Kasbahs , which offers many adorable photo opportunities of nature . The Kasbah is an ancient traditional Berber house built of clay and hay.

later. continue your trip to Ouarzazate. The city is famous for cinema and movies such as Game Of Thrones, Gladiator, Lawrence Of Arabia. Have a chance to visit Taourirt Kasbah and Cinema Atlas Studio . Drive To Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah , the largest Kasbah in Morocco. Built by the last Berber chieftain El Glaoui Et-Hami in the late 13th century, it is now a UNESCO matrimonial historical site, which today still houses many Berber family members. you will have a guided visit in this fortified Berber village. here you will feel like you are a movie star . Stop for lunch along the way via High Atlas Mountains
