This 7 days tour from Marrakech is the best way to see what Morocco has to offer in a very short time. The 7 day desert trip starts from the airport in Marrakech. Then travel to the south east . Day 1 Arrive in Marrakech
An expert driver tour guide will be waiting at the airport depending on your flight schedule. After meeting you, and welcome to Morocco. The driver will transfer you to the Riad/ Hotel. If you arrive in the morning you will visit the main attractions in Marrakech with a local guide.
Marrakech or Marrakesh also called “Red City” is one of 4 imperil cities of Morocco. You will explore the main tourist attractions and monuments of the city including the famous Jamaa el Fna square , Marrakech’s main square and the most important part of Medina. It has become the symbol of the city and is always full of life. Also see Kotubia Mosque , The Koutoubia Mosque is Marrakech’s most important mosque and was one of the largest house of worships for followers of Islam when completed in 1158. Also visit Souks, The souks of Marrakech’s medina are a maze of market stalls where the vibrant colours blend with the smell of spices and shouts of merchants. Moreover, Palaces,Museums.
You also will explore the new part of the city called Gueliz, with its gardens Menara and Majorelle.
Day 2: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Hadou – Dades:
Today, our 7 days from Marrakech will start from the Riad in Marrakesh city. We will depart for Dades with your expert tour guide / driver. On the way you will cross the the High Atlas Mountains by the incredible Tizi n’Tichka port, 2,260 meters high. Shortly after crossing the Atlas we will arrive at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, it’s an incredible fortified village where films such asGame Of Thrones, Gladiator, Lawrence Of Arabia…
After the visit of Kasbah and have lunch we will drive to Ouarzazate and take the Road of the Thousand Kasbahs towards Skoura Oasis, The Valley of roses, Dades valley, where you will spend the night in a riad/hotel in Dades Gorge or Boumalne Dades town.
Day 3: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Desert. (overnight camel trek)
Today after breakfast in Boumalne Dades. you will continue your adventure Morocco trip towards the impressive Todara Gorge. where you will go on a short hike along the canyons of about 300m high. Stop for lunch in one of the Berber villages along the way.
We will take the road to the Merzouga desert. and, cross the palm tree groves where best dates fruits grow up. Continue to Erfoud, a nice town where you can visit a marble workshop and fossils.
In the afternoon you will reach Merzouga Sahara desert village to start the camel trekking to desert camp. To reach the camp you will ride your camel over sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. The dunes are located south east of Morocco. and the Sahara desert is large as 35 km long and 5 to 8 km wide it’s also reputed as the highest sand dunes in North Africa.
The camel treks take about 1h 30 min from Merzouga town to the nomadic camp. We have both luxury and normal comfort camp. In the camp we have western bathroom, kitchen and dining room.
After delicious Tagine at the dinner the Berber guide will make some berber music. They use traditional drums. you will play drums and watch stars around the fire.
Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Atlas Mountains – Ifrane – Fes
Today will start in the early morning to watch the fabulous sunrise behind the dunes. The color is changing while the sun rises up.
The breakfast and shower at the camp if you select the luxury desert camp for your desert accommodation. If you choose Standard normal camp you will have breakfast and shower in a guest house in Merzouga after camel riding across the sand sea.
Change camels by car. and start the long journey day to Fes. via Erford city and stop for panoramic view of Ziz valley. Continue to Errachidia. Cross High Atlas Mountains to reach Midelt, the city famous for the apple trees. Stop for lunch in Zaida town. Continue journey to Azrou Cedar Forest this chance to see wild monkeys in their natural home. Continue driving to Ifane, its small beautiful town known as Moroccan Switzerland.
Then a short drive the arrive Fes city, and check to a Riad in The Medina.
Day 5: Half Day Fes Sightseeing – Chefchaouen
After breakfast , you will start visiting Fes with the local guide. Fes is a UNESCO world heritage site and is also considered one of the most spiritual and religious cities in Morocco. It has stood at the heart of Moroccan civilization for over five centuries and was a major cultural and intellectual center, competing with those of Europe. Fes is also an ideal starting point for Fes to Marrakech Sahara desert tours.
Today in this visit you will explore the following attractions : The Royal Palace Gate. The Jewish quarter is also called Mellah. University of Karaouine founded in 859, considered the oldest continuously operating institution of higher learning in the world. The Tannery, it’s a traditional place where they make handmade leather stuff. Pottery & Zellij Tile Cooperative where old techniques of how Zellij and pottery are made. Option to participate in making Zellij tile or pottery making. Great for shopping for a purchase of fabulous pottery, Zellij tiled tables, Zellij fountains and more.
In the afternoon you will enjoy the panoramic view over the whole Medina of Fes through a tower. Also you will see the famous Blue Gate, It was the main entrance of Medina.
At 3pm after you explore Fes we will drive to Chefchaouen (The blue city). It’s 3 hours away from Fes. at 6pm you will check in to your Riad in the medina of Chefchaouen.
Day 6: Explore Chefchaouen – Rabat – Casablanca
Today after breakfast you will explore the beautiful blue town. Then drive to Rabat through the Rif Mountains, in Rabat the capital you will visit Kasbah of the Udayas , it’s the ancient fortified town and Medina of Rabat, it’s UNESCO world heritage site . Also visit Hassan Tower . It’s the minaret of an incomplete mosque. Also see the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. After the visit we will drive to Casablanca overnight hotel.
Day 7: Casablanca – Airport transfer.
Today you will visit the famous Hassan II Mosque, the largest in Morocco that allows non-Muslims to enter. Then we will transfer you to the Airport depending on your flight details.
